How much does Doorwick cost?
$39 per workspace per month, or $390 a year — 2 months free. That is the entire price list: one price, two billing rhythms, every feature included. One workspace equals one site and one subscription. Multiple workspaces can still share the same operator inbox.
Do you charge per seat or per AI answer?
Neither. Operators are unlimited, conversations are unlimited, and AI answers run on your own provider key, so there is no per-resolution fee — you pay Anthropic or OpenAI directly for tokens and nothing extra to us. The three things that grow when your support succeeds are the three things we don't meter.
Is Doorwick really self-hosted?
Yes. Doorwick is one Rails app plus a Postgres database, and the deploy configs (Kamal) ship with it — run it on any box you control. If you'd rather not run infrastructure, use the hosted service.
Which AI providers can I use?
Anthropic, OpenAI, Fireworks, Ollama, or any OpenAI-compatible endpoint. You bring your own API key and pick the model per workspace — Doorwick is provider-agnostic on purpose.
Does the AI train on my data?
No. Conversation text is sent to the provider you configured, under your own key, solely to draft replies. Doorwick stores your conversations and knowledge in your database and nowhere else.
What does the widget cost my page?
One async script tag. The launcher is under 5 KB of dependency-free JavaScript, and the chat UI loads in an iframe only when a visitor opens it. No fonts, no framework, no tracking.
What happens when the AI doesn't know?
It says so, and flags the conversation for a person — the thread lands in your inbox marked "needs human". Answers the AI does give cite the doc they came from, so anyone can check them.
Can I take my data and leave?
Yes. Conversations export from the dashboard, and if you self-host it was your database all along. No lock-in is the point of the architecture.
